Practise kanji stroke order one stroke at a time
A practical method for using stroke animations, slow playback and word-level practice.
Watch, pause, then write
Choose a character and play its animation once. Replay slowly, pause after each stroke, and write the same stroke on paper. Use the step controls to inspect the sequence.
Use general patterns carefully
Top before bottom and left before right are useful starting patterns. Crossings, enclosures and individual characters have exceptions. Follow the actual character animation rather than applying a single rule to every shape.
Practise inside a word
Open a word such as 学校. Select 学, practise it, then select 校. Finally write the complete word and recall its reading, がっこう, and meaning, school.
Compare after practising
Replay the model and compare stroke direction and placement. A stroke animation is a writing reference; it does not evaluate your handwriting or replace feedback from a teacher.
