Kanji Scanner learning dictionary

This application uses the KANJIDIC2 and JMdict dictionary files. These files are
the property of the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group and
are used in conformance with the Group's licence.

Snapshot retrieved 2026-09-23. Source hashes and exact coverage are included in
manifest.json. The data has been converted to an indexed SQLite database; a
maximum of four distinct example headwords per kanji is selected, prioritising
common words and respecting spelling, reading and sense restrictions. Group
furigana shows the dictionary's whole-word reading without guessing per-kanji
alignment. SKIP and other specialist dictionary codes have been omitted.

KANJIDIC2 Portuguese translations are generic Portuguese, not a separately
reviewed Brazilian localisation. Existing authored N5 Sinhala translations
represent selected meanings. Their source is displayed separately. Missing
translations use English and are labelled as fallback. No claim of complete
offline translations in all twelve configured languages is made.

The derived KANJIDIC2/JMdict portions of dictionary.db remain CC BY-SA 4.0.
They are modifiable SQLite data extractable from this APK (a ZIP archive).
Conversion tools and translation-pack input format are included with the app's
source in tools/build_learning_dictionary.py. Dictionary data licensing does
not impose that licence on independent application code.

Update procedure: fetch the publisher's latest KANJIDIC2/JMdict archives before
each data release, update retrieval metadata, regenerate with the converter,
validate identifiers/restrictions/coverage, and ship the updated database and
notices. User history and favourites are stored separately and are preserved.

The offline multilingual release adds direct Gemini-generated English glosses and
translations in Sinhala, Hindi, Simplified/Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean,
Filipino, Nepali, Indonesian, Brazilian Portuguese and Burmese. These additions
were saved without independent linguistic verification and may contain errors.
Original glosses, readings and examples are preserved. Generated English additions
and translation records carry source labels. Missing content remains blank or uses
an explicitly labelled English fallback. Input hashes and counts are in manifest.json.
The generated pack importer is tools/import_generated_dictionary.py.

Full licence and publisher documentation are packaged alongside this notice.
There is no warranty of dictionary accuracy. Google Translate is an optional
external website opened on user request; it is not bundled translation data,
an embedded API, or a guarantee of translation quality or future availability.
