返事が速い人ほど仕事ができる、という評価は分かりやすい。しかし、即答を求める環境では、検討が必要な問いまで、考えやすい問いに置き換えて答えてしまう恐れがある。もちろん、緊急の連絡を放置してよいわけではない。受領の確認と、内容に責任を持つ回答とを分ければ、相手を待たせる不安を抑えつつ、考える時間を確保できる。速さを一律に求めるのではなく、応答の役割を区別すべきだ。
