ある言葉を知っていることと、その場で使えることとは同じではない。辞書の意味は理解していても、誰に、どの距離感で使うかが分からなければ発言をためらう。学習者の沈黙を能力の欠如と決めつける前に、安心して試し、言い直せる環境があるかを問いたい。誤りをすべて見逃すべきだというのではない。伝えようとした内容を受け止めた上で、別の表現を示すことが、知識を参加へとつなぐのではないだろうか。
Reading & meaning
Knowing a word is not the same as using it socially. A learner may know its definition yet hesitate over audience and distance. Before interpreting silence as inability, ask whether people can safely try and reformulate. This does not mean ignoring errors; acknowledging intended meaning before offering alternatives can connect knowledge with participation.
